Norfork Lake Condition and Fishing Report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental (click here for comment)

Dave Titus, John Bornhop, Tom Kelly and Mike Eakle all caught several nice ones. They were all fishing separately. Tom is still fishing Float Creek heavily.Image titleImage title

The lake level is 555.88 and has dropped over three inches in the last 24-hours. They cut way back on generation a couple of hours ago and the White River at Newport is now below 12-ft. The water is still clearing nicely and you can see your lure down several feet. The surface temperature was 556 when I went out yesterday the the ambient was in the low 70's. We had several fishermen out from Blackburns and they all caught fish. Most everything is the same but cooler weather is coming later this week but not bad. Our normal high is 60 and low is 39. We have not had a hard frost yet. We usually get the first on in very early November. Crappie fishing is the best followed by bass, walleye and bluegill. I will try a little catfishing later today. All temperate bass fishing is slow. The lake in general is in excellent condition for fishing. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. We are to get a little rain later but not much.
