Caught yesterday evening on the 1/4 ounce Bink's Spoon.Image title

The lake level is 556.83 and has risen 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 1/2 speed. The surface temperature was 64.5 where I was fishing yesterday afternoon on the main lake and the lake is clearing and is a good color for fishing. I was heading to a brush pile near Cranfield Island and saw some shad and schooled fish just around Mallard Point about in front of the third dock on the main lake side in 35-ft. of water. I dropped a spoon and caught a couple of small White Bass and a small Striper and released them all on site. No picture fish. White Bass are not picture fish anyway. The brush pile that I was looking for was a little deeper than I liked with the latest water rise but there were fish on It anyway. Four crappie, a couple of nice bluegill and a short walleye were caight on the 1/4 ounce spoon and then they quit. I moved around the point to the inside and switched to the grub and minnow and caught two smallmouth bass. It cooled down and I came in. The weather was wonderful with highs in the 60's with light wind. It is to be warmer for the next few days. I am going to go vote and then hit it again. There are few boats out there during the middle of the week and there is peace and quiet. Please quit killing those small stripers and hybrids. They do not dress out very well anyway after the red meat is cut off. I hope the White Bass make a comeback. They are pretty scarce now but at least they reproduce in the lake. Stripers and Hybrids do not and few were stocked this year.
