The lake level is 556.70 and has risen 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running less than 1/2 the time. The level has risen about 2-1/2 feet total since all of the rain last week. The lake is clearing rapidly and the surface temperature on the main lake is still 65-66 depending on the time of day. A lot of fish were caught yesterday with crappie being the best bite with bass second. I am seeing nobody getting any stripers except for one now and again. We are paying the price for people killing all of those small ones from 4-10 lbs. Just a few White Bass and Hybrids are coming in but they are small also.  Some big bass are being caught and Kentucky Bass are the best bite. Big fat ones. They are fun to catch and great eating. The bluegill bite is still good with nice size. Catfishing is slow. They had a long time to drop the lake but refused to do it before the last rains. Now the level needs to go down about nine feet before the spring rains. The dam management rules need to be reviewed and moved into the 21st. century and the people running the operation need to be replaced.  The incompetence is unbelieveable and someone needs to be held accountable. We had a fun Halloween here at Blackburns. We had trick or treating outside under the pavillion and the evening was beautiful. Norfork Lake Fun out of Blackburns Resort and Boat rental. Come on down. We will not charge you too much and your first boat stall is free. The weather has been wonderful and should continue for the next several days.
