The lake level is 563 and is dropping a little over 2-inches in 24 hours with the equivalent of 1-1/2 generators running a little over 1/2 the time. Why the slow drop nobody can figure out. Some nice fish were caught yesterday by Mike Dean and John Bornhop. Bass and flatheads are the best bite now followed by crappie and bluegill. Walleye is good but most are short. The creeks are stained badly now and you can see your lure down just a very few feet on the main lake. Stick with those Bink Spoons on the main lake points in 25-29 feet of water near the bottom. Trollers are catching a few fish but putting on a lot of miles and burning a lot of gas. Fishing overall is just fair but some good fish are being caught everyday. The weather has been great with highs in the 80's and lows in the high 60's. It looks like the new hurricane will not affect us much if any so far. We need some rain again. The lake is still pretty busy and Blackburns is nearly full with people taking advantage of our low prices on both cabins and boat rentals. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. We invite you to shop prices before you book. Surface temperature is still about 83 degrees and perfect for swimming.
