I do not put my picture on this much but nobody sent me any others yesterday. I know you get tired of the same people's picture. That is why I have several good fishermen reportImage titleImage title

The lake level is 564.58 and has dropped one inch in the last 24-hours with no generation since last evening. They got lots of rain in Newport and Batesville but we got less than one inch of gentle, badly needed rain here in Mountain Home. We had received less than 1/2 inch all the month of August before that. It was cloudy and misting rain with a water surface temperature of 84 degrees and a gentle wind from the northeast when I went out yesterday afternoon. The lake is stained and you could see your lure down about three feet. The conditions were perfect for a bite so it did not matter how many light bulbs were out, playground toys broken or how many chains were pulled out of ceiling fans. I was going fishing. I went walleye fishing and caught two along river channel banks on the main lake in 26-feet of water but it was slow so I started spooning brush piles. We put in some nice brush this winter and the ones we put in the shallowest are in play now. I put on a Bink's 1/2 ounce Many Shad spoon and vertical jigged right in the brush. Catfish, crappie, bass and bluegill were caught right up until 5:pm in 26-27 feet of water. The bass, bluegill and catfish were taken to Tom Kelly's trophy pond and the rest were released immediately. Crappie and walleye are hard to keep alive in this weather even if they are iced down so they go right back in. Bass and bluegill fishing is very good right now, crappie and walleye are fair with several  walleye, but not all, are short. If you are only catching short ones try just a couple of feet deeper. Bink is the only one I know catching stripers and there are reports of several dead ones floating near the dam. Some are people trying to release fish that come out of deep water and others are from lack of oxygen.  I do not fish for them this time of year. Fishing is getting better and better especially in the area of the lake around Blackburns. Come on down.  We will not charge you too much. No dragging or pulling anything behind any of our rental boats except for the ski boat. Our friends at the marinas have boats for you to do that. Ours are for cruising, swimming and fishing only. Sorry. You must be a guest to rent a boat from us.
