Norfork Lake conditions and fishing report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental

The lake level is 566 33 and has dropped a little less than 3-inches in the last 24-hours. Blackburns has our complete original road to the dock open now as well as the boat launch but you still have to park on the road by the dock and walk down some stairs to get on.  Things are much better than before and getting better. At 560 we will get out main parking lot back and things will be back to normal as well as many of our brush piles for fishing. It has been very slow coming with the resistance to let out water by the COE. We are very dry here again and we should have been back to normal months ago. We need a rain bad. Walleye fishing has been the best with bass next and then a few crappie. The thermocline is at 28-feet and the lake is stained both in the creeks and the main lake. Spoon main lake points at 23-27 feet for about everything mentioned above.  Tom Kelly is catching some good bass on his worm near the bank and Mike Eakle is using the 1/2 ounce Bink's many shad  spoon exclusively. Bink is catching some stripers also on his spoon but not a lot. I have been too busy with rental boats and my fishing time has been very limited. It is very busy here at Blackburns and we like that. People are taking advantage of the best prices on the lake here on both cabins and boat rentals and the great weather despite the drought. All of our cabins are individual with no duplexes and you can social distance. All have big covered porches to get out of the weather. The big pool with slide is open. Your first boat stall is free here unless you bring a pontoon or a boat with a tower but we do not have boat stalls for one day rentals. Trolling motors on some pontoons are free and are included in the price. Sorry we no longer allow towing anything from any of our rental boats except our ski boat so if you need to do so our friends at the marinas will rent you a boat for that. Our boats are for fishing, cruising and swimming only. You can stay here and rent from them and drag anything you want. We are looking forward to the fall fishing and bookings have never been better. Come on down.  You will be welcome and we will not charge you too much.
