Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 567.97 and is dropping between two and three inches everyday with generation most of the time. The surface temperature was 85 when I went out yesterday and the lake seems to be cleraring a bit but the visibility is still not good. Patton at Scuba Doo Dive Shop reports the thermocline is 28-feet. I started spooning a main lake point near the resort and caught about a three pound Kentucky Bass right away and then nothing. I moved inside the cove side of the point in the shade and caught some very nice Warmouth on a Bobby Garland Baby shad. I then went to another main lake point and started spooning again in 23-feet of water and caught three walleye and came in. I was still using the 1/2 ounce Bink's Many Shad Spoon. I do not know why the walleye are at 23 when they are usually right at the thermocline near the bottom. Maybe just because that is where the cover is located on the old shoreline buckbrush. All of the fish were caught near some kind of structure.
