Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Caught fishing with Bink's guide service yesterday.Image title

The lake level is 571.66 and has dropped 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours. They quit generating all night and then start up again early morning and are holding the White River at Newport to 12+ feet. The lake looks clear from the top but the visibility is not so good at the thermocline which is 22-23 feet. Bass, stripers and bluegill continue to be the best bite but a few catfish are showing up. Fishing is poor during middle of the day but that is always the case in the last part of July. The stripers are deep and most of the other fish are still in the brush on the old shoreline which is 20-ft. under water. Conditions are good for boating and swimming and the surface temperature is in the high 80's. It is to cool off with better chances of rain later this week. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 to get into the action. We still have the best prices and the largest pool.
