The lake level is 575.21 and has dropped three inches in the last 24-hours with continuous generation. They have slowed the discharge way down on the White River at Newport and the level there is 13+ feet when the minor flood stage is 26 feet. Why are they trying to hold the area lakes up as high as possible for as long as possible when we are dry? There is no threat of floods anywhere near here. You cannot let the government run anything. There is some very good news. The Arkansas Game and Fish were unable to stock any stripers or hybrids in Norfork this year due to social distancing but the private sector has stepped up. We usually get 154,000 fingerling stripers each year. I want to thank Keo fish farm for donating 23,000 stripers for stocking Norfork. It will prevent a complete void for the class of 2020 in the years to come. With people killing so many small stripers in the 5-10 lb. range it will surely help. I do not know why meat hunters want to kill them so bad. After the red meat is cut out they do not dress out very well. The daily limit needs to be cut to two per day. I do not fish for them at all during the summer as they all die when brought out of deep water. Venting does not help as some people say and they do not survive in a live well.  The surface water temperature is in the mid 80's depending on when you are out there and clears up nicely during the week and clouds up again with the weekend boat traffic. Blackburns has a few openings on both cabins and boats this summer and have the best prices. You do not have to bring tents or umbrellas to give you shade and get out of the weather here as all cabins have big covered porches and you can social distance with no duplexes. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115. No we do not rent jet skis and yes you do have to rent a cabin here to rent a boat. Another stupid government rule not mine. We do not suggest dragging tubes at this time as the lake has been high for a long time and some debris is water logged and just under the surface and hard to see. Save the children and lower units.
