The lake level is 569.39 and has dropped 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with the same amount of generation and spillway gates. They have lowered the level to 21-feet on the White River at Newport as predicted so do not expect any big changes in any of the lakes except fot Branson which is approaching power pool. Bull Shoals is very high but can hold a lot of water. They are to lower the level again at Newport on May 1st to 18 feet and if they do that the lakes will remain high for a long time. We are to get more rain tonight but the rain is not the problem. It is 75 and sunny now. The lake is really clearing and the surface temperature is really rising fast now with the sunshine and warmer nights. Especially in the creeks which are shallower. I had between 62 and 65 in Blackburns Creek yesterday. The bass will move to the beds soon. Smallmouth bass are still the best bite with some big ones being caught. Some walleye and crappie are with them. Flathead fishing has slowed a bit but some are still being caught. The lake is generally in good condition for fishing especially in this area. use the 3-inch worm and creature baits and work the old shoreline and you will catch fish. It is 75 and sunny now
