The lake level is 559.95 and has dropped over an inch in the last 24-hours despite us getting about 1-inch of rain the last two days. The new news is that they are running both generators continuously and have supplemented the discharge by opening two spillway gates one foot. This is a step in the right direction. Just do not quit at 553.75 but take it down to below 550 and we will be fine. The increased discharge is not allowing the lake to clear much but the brown water on the main lake has settled a bit but the creeks are stained. The water coming down from Missouri from the river and Bennetts is brown but everything is ok by the time you get to the bridges. The float creek area is an excellent place to start and the main lake points south of there. It was cool when I went out yesterday but the wind had completely died down. I spooned brush for bass and crappie but had limited success. I caught a few but no picture fish. The surface temperature is still about 48 and the lake in general is in good condition. The moon is getting smaller and on cloudy days when it gets dark it gets dark. And when the sun goes down it gets cold. Dress accordingly. We are busy making improvements here at Blackburns and getting the rental boats ready for spring. You will like what you see when you get here. Call to get the cabin and boat of your choice reserved. We are open all year. We need to keep our high quality employees and do not lay them off.
