Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 555.33 and has risen 2-feet in the last 24-hours with no generation since last early evening. We did receive a total of almost 4-inches here at Blackburns for the last few days. We were able to get in a full day of fishing Friday with very cloudy skies and very light rain. The water surface temperature was just above 50 and the creeks had stained up again. I spooned brush near my dock for about an hour and caught a couple of bass and then moved to a north facing bank out of the wind with brush and found some feeding crappie and caught seven before dark. One was very large. It started to rain about 7:Pm here and thundered heavily most of the night. The creeks run very heavily and are still running. The lake will continue to rise quickly with no generation. They always quit when the rain starts. The cold front is here now and will not do the fishing any good but it is to warm back into the high 50's and 60's early next week. We will seee what happens. I am fishing brush in the 22-30 ft. range but that might change with the lake rise. It is at an excellent level for fishing now. You have to be out there almost everyday do keep on top of the conditions. I will let you know.
