Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Bink with some good ones. More too. Image title

The lake level is 553.85 and has dropped a little over an inch in the last 24-hours. There is still no generation but they have 7-gates open 2-feet which is not much. Less than 1/2 a generator. The surface temperature is 51+ depending on whether you are in the creeks or on the main lake.  The creeks both cool and warm quicker. The visibility is pretty good and you can see your lure down about 5-feet. I am fishing for mostly bass and crappie but am catching some very nice bluegill but not a lot of them. I am still spooning, using a slip float and minnow and casting a grub and minnow for everything. It is to be very nice weather for the next week and the lake in general is in excellent condition. Bink is also catching some very nice fish as is Tom Kelly. There are not many boats out there and it is nice being out in the sun. Wish you were here. We have several fishermen coming in the next few days and I will get reports from them. You cannot go out once or twice a week and write an accurate report. Things are changing daily. Come on down.  We are open all year and will not charge you too much.
