Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Caught yesterday on the Bink's spoon.Image title

The lake level is 557.31 and has dropped 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours. They are doing well holding it up as long as possible in case it rains. It needs to be down about 10-feet by April in preparation for the spring rains.  It is at a good level for fishing and boating now though but it has taken them all summer and fall to get there.  We need a private company to manage the dams and parks and get the govenment out of it. It was a beautiful day yesterday and continues today.  Sunny with highs in the mid 70's. The fall color is changing just a bit every day but not very fast. The hillsides are not changing much just the roadways. Tom Kelly caught some nice bass and a walleye yesterday and we put them in the pond. It is getting stocked up pretty good now and is in excellent condition. Bass fishing is pretty good and he caught them on a jig and pig in float creek. We have some good fishermen in now and several others just left. We will see what happens today. Bink caught some good stripers yesterday on his Arkansas shiner spoon.  Fishing will get better as the full moon wanes for bass and crappie. I will go crappie fishing later today. Our brush piles are now finally coming into play. Come on down.  We will not charge you too much and your first boat stall is free. One bedroom cabins are still $59/day and they all are single units with no duplexes and all have covered porches. Trolling motors are also free on fishing pontoon rentals. You have 28-acres to roam and are not huddled up on a hillside with little parking. You will like our big dock with security system with different sized stalls for different sized boats with gutters on the roof and access fingers on both sides of your boat.
