The lake level is 559.10 and is still dropping about 2-inches a day. The surface temperature was 80 degrees when I went diving yesterday and the visibility was pretty good . It rained 1.6 inches earlier and and it cooled the water. You could really tell the difference when i jumped in. I went to a main lake point and fish were everywhere. Mostly crappie and bass but a few walleye too. A lot of good sized bass and some large crappie but hundreds of smaller ones. They were shallow in 12-18 feet of water and suspended off the bottom. I was only looking for big fish so I let the walleye go but picked up a couple of crappie for supper. Diving conditions were very good for september. The pole fishermen caught some nice bass and crappie also with the 1/4 ounce Bink's spoon over 30-ft. brush. I am not seeing any schools of walleye or any white bass. All of the surfacing fish are bass. They are coming up about 6-PM but most are small. Cast the 1/8th ounce spoon over them. I did not check for thermocline because I did not need to go that deep. I will next time. It is going to get very warm later on this weekend and will be a good time for a boating trip. Summer is not over and our big pool is open. Blackburns is open all year and will not charge you too much. We are the fall foliage headquarters for Norfork Lake, Mountain Home area and the Ozark Mountain region. Peak will be about the very end of October. Come on down.
