Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 562.32 abd has dropped three inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running most of the time. The surface temperature was 86 degrees when I went diving yesterday morning. what i did see is that the fish are not in any normal summer pattern. I am seeing hundreds of good sized Kentucky bass and a few schools of barely legal crappie with just a few large ones mixed in. That is about it. I see smaller fish shallow in 12-14 feet, larger ones 14-22 feet and not much below that. There is nothing below 30-feet. Crappie are on brush in 30-35 feet of water but suspended above the brush about 15ft. down. There is not much else out there except for a few catfish on jugs baited with perch. I have seen no White Bass for months. There are some fish coming up in the morning but are not White bass. They are all small bass. Bluegill fishing is very good on crickets. Striper fishing near the dam is dead literally.  The lake is in excellent condition and the weather remains hot. I saw three boats out on the lake total and they were all my rentals. It is busy here and we like that. People are taking advantage of our low prices.
