Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Got some good ones yesterday in 20-ft. of water. Image title

The lake level is 563.96 and has dropped about 2-inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running most of the time. Newport is now at 11+ feet to Hold the lakes at a higher than normal level. The lake is in excellent condition for fishing, diving, boating and swimming with a surface temperature of about 85 degrees. The thermocline is about 27 feet and the visibility there is about 8-feet. Many fish have moved above that though including bass  and crappie. I went diving yesterday and found several large crappie at 20-feet. Diving conditions are very good with no mud line and lots of fish moving in. I still am not seeing any White Bass. People are sure killing a lot of small stripers though out of deep water. I put two channel cats, one flathead and six bluegill in the pond caught off my dock. It is to remain hot here for the next week with highs in the mid 90's. Good time for a summer vacation with little boat traffic. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. Winter prices are here.
