The lake level is 564.16 and has dropped about 2-inches in the last 24-hours. I predicted several weeks ago it would be 564 by Labor day. They have done an excellent job of holding the level up all summer and the level of the White River at Newport is holding at just below 12-feet for absolutely no reason. We certainly need someone different  running the dams.  I was hoping the new guy would be better but he is worse. We are crazy if we think the government can run anything. The rules need to be reviewed and changed. There is no danger of a flood anywhere around here and we are very dry. Hold and hope is their motto and protect Branson is their game. There was a news article on TV about how high all of the lakes are in the area except Table Rock which is normal and encouraging people to go there and bragging about their tourism. This is not fair. The swim beaches should be in operation by the end of October. Good timing.  Norfork lake is still in excellent condition despite the higher than normal fall level and fishing is getting better everyday and will continue to do so until turnover in October and then keep getting better. I catch a lot of big fish in November. Most boat launches are about normal with more and more parking everyday. This is my favorite time of year. Come on down we will not charge you too much. Blackburns has cabins for $59/day and fully equipped fiberglass bass boats and fishing pontoons for you to rent at the best prices. It was a great weekend with all of our pontoons rented, a full house and nice quiet respectful  people. We like our many repeat customers and thank them. Blackburns is your family and fishing place and we will not charge you too much.
