Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 569.10 and has dropped 2-inches in the last 24-hours with generation about 1/2 the time. The White River at Newport is below 12-feet.  Let some water out boys. It is very dry and there is no flooding anywhere near here.  This is crazy. You cannot let the government run anything. The lake in general is in very good condition but is stained a bit but not unusual for this time of year. Fishing has held up pretty well with bass fishermen doing well after dark on saltcraws and stripers and walleye deep on jigging spoons. Bluegill are hitting on crickets. A few crappie are under the dock.   The surface temperature is in the mid 80's.  The weather has been great but dry with highs in the mid 80's. it is to get more normal next week with highs again in the early 90's. The days are shorter so the heat does not last as long. My walnut trees are dropping leaves already.  It is very busy here at Blackburns with people taking advantage of our low cabin rates, low boat rental costs and free boat stall with your cabin. Our big sparkling pool with slide and baby pool has been the center of attraction all summer. We are a bird sanctuary and have lots of wildlife on our 28-acres. Come on down.  We will not charge you too much. All cabins are individual with no duplexes and have covered porches. You can get a one bedroom cabin for $75/day. Not bad. The children need one more trip before vacation is over. They will like it here. I do.
