Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Tom Kelly caught some good ones. Image title

The lake level is 573.45 and has risen about three inches in the last 24-hours with about 5-hours of generation. It drops a ltlle when they generate and rises when they don't. It is mostly don't. We received locally heavy rain earlier this week with varying amounts. Some got 2-inches and some much more. It did not affect the lake much but the rivers got a quick rise and campers had to be evacuated to higher ground but it is back down now with sunny warm weather for several days before a cold front moves in again later next week. Striper fishermen are carching good fish very early about 25-ft. down and then later at sunrise on top water. Bass are still biting on the normal lake bank on plastic worms and top-water but are scattered. Crappie are in cover and under docks. There is plenty of cover. Catfishing on limb lines has slowed back in the creeks and they are biting better on trot-lines on main lake cuts and just around points. I am using live bluegill. The bass being caught are full of crawdads. I am getting ready for spear fishing now and the season starts next Saturday. This is a good time of year. Blackburns still has cabins for $75/day and has no diminished services. Come on down.  We will not charge you too much.
