Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 557.71 and has risen 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours.  At least they are generating at this time. They continue to run Table Rock heavily around the clock to keep it at normal level. Go figure. Why are Norfork lake people not more outraged about this? We need to hold government people accountable and know their names and how to get in touch with them. This anonymity needs to have the light shined on it and more fair rules applied. Some post spawn walleye and crappie are coming in everyday now and they are some nice ones. Some are on brush and some are in open water on shad. Top water temperate bass and black bass are coming up early and surfacing around 6:30 AM. I am not seeing very many big stripers and many of the white bass are small. More than 1/2 of the bass and crappie have spawned now with several males still guarding the nests. If you catch one off the fish off the nests it takes about five minutes for the bluegill to eat them up. Mushrooms are about gone now but I found some good ones this year. You can almost see the garden and grass growing and the weather is beautiful today. Walleye and white bass are coming in with the shad under lights after dark now and some big walleye are being caught. They are skinny and are post-spawn feeding. It is about time to hit the flats around Cranfield Island. I usually wait for 70-degree water temperature but also like to find out more what is going on than meat hunting. It is fun th be the first one to give an accurate report and I have several good fishermen helping me to do it. No copying here.
