Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 557.49 and has risen 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with just 3-hours of generation.  They are still running Table Rock hard to keep it at normal level and protect Branson and the landing. I suspect politics is involved. The rainfall last night and today is very variable depending on where you are but we received about 0.8 inches here at Blackburns so far. We have not had over average rainfall here for the last two months. What we have had is bad dam management. The very heavy tree pollen clouded up the creeks yesterday but did not hurt fishing. I had one report of a person catching 23-bass with the size about 2-21/2 pounds. All were released. Dock floors full of dead fish are not impressive especially during the spawn. The top water bite early in the AM is really picking up for white bass, bass and smaller stripers and will get better and better as we approach the full moon the 18th of May. Large striper numbers continue to be a problem and we highly recommend releasing smaller stripers. 10-lb. stripers are not picture fish. They are semi-put and take and are finite in numbers.  Water temperature was 66 degrees yesterday when I went out. It is very busy here at Blackburns and we like that. Shop before you buy.  We will not chage you too much.
