Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 558.68 and has dropped a little over 8-inches in the last 24-hours. It has dropped 5-1/2 feet since the high. The water is clearing, surface temperature is 44-degrees and the lake in general is in excellent condition. I have to move the dock out again today but do not mind. This looks to be a good spring. The weather has been slow to warm but when it does it will happen quickly with the creeks warming fastest. It was cool and misted rain all day yesterday and is cloudy today but warmer. We are finishing remodeling cabin #11 now and will start on dock improvements monday. I opened four more cabins and the girls are working hard to get them ready. We have a few guests in this weekend and several more next week. The season has started. I have spent myself into oblivion but the place looks great. We just need a little sunshine to make things better. We do improvements on our dock every year. We put on gutters so the runoff does not blow into your boat, have two fish cleaning stations, have different sized stalls for different sized boats, have wide walkways, fingers or walkways on both sides of stalls with all kinds of lighting and electrical. I think it is the best dock around. The open water fishing is still sporatic with feast or famine and I am still grubbing the bank and spooning brush piles. Overall fishing is just fair but I am catching some fish everyday but no big ones. We have some good fishermen coming in and we will see what they do. The fish are in there. Things are slow changing now but that happens. I know what to expect but not when.
