Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 555.73 and headed for 556 with no generation for 24-hours. It is time to demand some resignations. If they cannot manage it in the winter the spring is impossible. They have had months to control the level and saying the winter rains have been heavy is no excuse.  There were times this late fall and winter when Newport was at 2-3 feet. Hold and hope. The surface temperature was just above 45 degrees when I went out yesterday and the wind was light and variable. The ambient temperature was 39 degrees. Five crappie and two bass were caught casting the grub and minnow but only one had any size to it. Not worth a picture. The creeks are still brown in my area and the main lake is still stained. It is cloudy with light rain now and it is supposed to increase and continue until tomorrow morning and then warm up to near 60 for the middle of the week. I am sure using my heated sox and gloves a lot this year. We continue to work on improvements everyday here at Blackburns and you will sure notice them when you get here this year and there will be no price increases.
