Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 555.50 and still rising with several hours a day with no generation. The surface temperature is still 45 and general lake conditions are the same. I am going out everyday and doing the same thing fishing for crappie and bass. I go out in the warmest part of the day and stay out until dark and am catching five or six keeper fish everytime roataing brush piles. Fishing is not good but not bad either. It is to be warm this weekend before a cold spell again and there should be some fair weather fishermen out there. There have been no other boats. The crappie are not giant ones like I was catching last week but are all about 11-12 inches and the bass are barely 15-inches. White Bass are still scattered from the 101 bridge almost to Cranfield Island on shad at various depths. Main lake water is a little more stained and you can see your lure down about 4-feet. Fishing main lake brush in 25-30 feet of water with the grub is working best for me but a few are hitting the small Bink's spoon and live minnows on a slip float about 9-feet down.
