Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 555.44 and has risen about 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours. I understand they have to run Table Rock full speed to protect Branson and not have the landing flood but they also need to work Norfork in there. The priorities need to change. Norfork has only two generators and is small in the scheme of things. It was windy and cold when we went out to put in a brush pile yesterday. It just did not warm up an did not get out of the 30's. It is sunny and in the 40's today but is to get into the teens tonight. Surface temperature is still about 45 degrees and fishing is just fair with white bass, crappie and bass being the best. I caught 5 nice crappie yesterday in about an hour of fishing and all of them were caught casting a grub over the brush and letting it sink. They seemed to be about 6-feet down and were coming up to get the lure. The cold fronts just keep coming through and are followed by high pressure hurting the fishing. After a high pressure and just before the cold front are the best times. I usually stay fishing until it rains me out to catch the best ones. A prolonged high pressure is ok but we have not been getting very many of those. Your deposits are due to hold the cabin and boat of your choice and we are getting several call a day. We have and are making many improvements and you will like what you see when you get here. All with no price increases.  The lake is in excellent condition and it should be a good year. Our average high is now 45 degrees.
