Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 554.68 and has dropped almost 3-inches in the last 24-hours despite about 0.4 inches of rain last night with both generators running continuously. The surface temperature was almost 48 yesterday when I went fishing. I went to a brush pile between cow point and the 101 bridge on the north side and there were schooled fish there but they were only small hybrids and white bass so I went across the lake to another one and fished for crappie. It started out slow but got better at sunset. It was in the high 40's and the wind was light. I was both spooning and casting the grub over the brush and letting it sink and caught three nice bluegill, a bass and two crappie. Nothing big. We will put in more brush piles today and then go fish. The full moon is the 21st and we are to get more rain and the wind is to pick up with fronts going through almost continually. Please keep generating. The lake is in excellent general condition for fishing. Blackburns still has the best prices on cabins and do not charge you for the first boat stall. Why pay more?
