Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 554.93 and has dropped a little over 2-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously. That is good. More rain may be coming.  It was a little warmer yesterday when we went out to put in brush piles. We are off to a good start and have some good ones with more on the way. The surface temperature is still just about 47. We are to be in the 50's for a couple of days and then to get cold Saturday night and Sunday. It is the back side of January and the days are getting longer and the moon is getting bigger. I never have very good luck with the clear skies and big moon but did catch a few bass. The big crappie were not biting very well.  Will try again a little later today. Winter fishing has been just fair for numbers but some big fish are being brought in every day by the few people that are out there. The spoon did not work for me yesterday and the grub was all I caught anything on.  I still am not seeing very many shad.
