Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Some pretty good ones caught yesterday.Image title

The lake level is 553.48 and has dropped just a bit with less generation than before. It was just a bit windy yesterday until about 4:PM when it layed down. I again was casting my little grub and minnow and catching bass and crappie. Some of our guests from Indiana caugh some white bass, a 23 inch striper and a 20-lb. catfish. The catfish was from the dock brush. I can see the crappie under there but do not know if they are the same ones released the last several days. Another limit was released there last night. Several people are coming in tomorrow and it will be busy. We have been very busy with improvements. There have been $35,000 spent on metal roofs, $30,000 on laminate floors, $10,000 on flat screened TVs, appliances and bedding.  We think you will like it when you get here. There will be no price increases this year as we do not want to charge you too much. Deposits are due for your 2019 reservations on January 15th to insure you hold the cabins and boat rental of your choice.  The business is growing every year and we have all of our loyal customers to thank. The lake is in excellent condition and fishing is medium. Too many stripers in the 5-10 lb. range are being killed and people that have not been here very long think they are big. They are not and do not dress out very well anyway. i have had  lessons from my friends Bink and Don and now maybe I can go out and catch some fish. You cannot walk on our water or drill holes in it and we are open all year. It is to be in the 60's tomorrow.
