The fish were biting today at Blackburns
The lake level is rising a bit with absolutely no generation. We are at 552.56 and we need to be dropping to 548 going into March. I do not understand the reluctance to do so. Lowering the lake in the winter worked pretty well until the new regime took over about 10-years ago. The lake is getting a little more stained in both the main and creeks. It is a good color for fishing. It was warm, sunny and the lake was like glass when I went out yesterday. With the full moon and no wind I did not expect much. I tried two places and nothing and then went to the third caught a nice bass on the spoon and then nothing again. Switched to the grub and they started biting until dark when they stopped again. Big crappie, 3-lb. bass, big bluegill and a nice 10-lb. channel catfish were all caught in one hour. That is about as big of a channelcat as you will see. A whole bunch of fish were caught this morning in the fog.
