Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 552.59 and rising a bit with no generation. The surface tem[perature is in the low 60's and the lake is clearing nicely. The moon is getting bigger now and the morning bite has improved greatly and has now surpassed the evening bite as predicted. Fish are pushing the shad up all over the lake in the early AM and fish are also moving to cover from the open water. Crappie, bass and white bass are the best bite now and a spoon is the best lure. If you see fish coming up cast the spoon to them and hop it back to the boat keeping it from sinking as much as you can. Minnows, grubs tipped with minnows and the 1/8th ounce Bink's spoon are all working for crappie on 25-ft. brush. I have no reports of the night bite for stripers but most of my guests have just left with the prediction of cold and snowy weather. Monday and Tuesday do not look the best weatherwise but nothing severe. The lake in general is in excellent condition. Our normal high is 60 and we will not get anywhere near to that until later on next week. The people wanting summer to be over are really getting their wish. I caught some good fish but would rather show off this picture of my father and his brothers. I am more proud of them than any fish.
