The lake level is 551.95 and has risen 1-1/2 inches in 24-hours with 2-hours of running one generator. The lake conditions were this as I went out last evening: A big black cloud came over about 4:PM and I waited until the heavy rain quit before I left. The skies cleared and the sun came out and the wind was light. The surface temperature did not drop with all of the rain and was just under 66 degrees on the main Lake near Blackburns. The creeks were stained and the main lake was pretty clear, especially near the shore. Fishing was slow for a while until the wind increased to just under white caps about 5:30 PM. That is usually when it calms. The fish started biting and I caught crappie (some very nice ones), bass, bluegill and warmouth all casting the grub and minnow. I do not like to spoon when the wind is blowing if you cannot keep your lure straight up and down with the trolling motor. Too many snags. Came in just at dark and had a good time. Good to see the sun. It is nice out today with highs in the 60's and partly cloudy. Good for fishing. Every day is good for fishing if there is not ice in the eyelets. Screws up the drag. Several are leaving Blackburns today but several more are coming in. We have some very good fishermen and women. Fishing in general is just fair and overall lake conditions are good. Just good to be out.
