Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 551.35 and is stable with one hour of generation at night. Norfork  lake is getting very clear compared to earlier especially on steep river channel rocky banks. The surface temperature is 68 on the main lake and it is very sunny and beautiful with the fall foliage glistening. It is 70 degrees and beautiful with several more days of warm weather on the way. I talked to Harvey Hall yesterday and he said he and two others caught 20-keeper crappie and one bass and he fished several of his brush piles for most of the day. Most were 11-inches but a couple approached 14. It was good to hear from him. He is one good crappie fisherman and I have learned a lot from him. He has done a lot of good for this lake over the years by putting in dozens of brush piles. I wish more people would join in this. It was windy when I went out yesterday afternoon and the fish were not biting very well for me. i caught a couple and then the wind dropped about 5:30 Pm and I started to fish the wind blown main lake banks. The wind had been blowing from the north west. I caught several nice bass of all varieties.and missed the largest one, a smallmouth, at the boat. I released everything any way.  Broke the string on my trolling motor and came it at dark. Nice evening. I saw about four or five boats out there and most were from Blackburns.
