Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 551.73 and still dropping very slowly with some afternoon generation. Not much has changed. There is a significient difference in water temperature from the main lake to the creeks.  The creeks always change more rapidly and are warmer with the hot weather. I had 86 in Blackburns creek and 84 on the main lake when I went out last evening. It looks like that will change with a cold front moving in and possibly a lot of rain and cool weather on its way. I have never seen grass grow so fast at the end of september. Our normal high is 80 degrees and it is to be below that later this weekend. When the water gets back into the 70's I will start scuba diving again if the water clears.  It needs too. I went to one brush pile and caught three bass, two crappie and a bluegill in one and one half hours on the 1/4 ounce Bink's spoon. Not bad but not good. All went into the trophy pond. I will start walleye fishing on the flats soon. We will see what the weather brings. I can usually fish around it since I do not have to go very far to get fish. Blackburns is in a very good location.
