The lake level is 552.14 and rising very slowly with no generation. It is at a very good level. Surface temperature is in the lower 80's and dropping with the cooler nights. The lake seems to be clearing just a bit but I will see when i go diving. I have been pole fishing this week and am waiting for the visibility to get better before i resume diving. I have caught bass, crappie, bluegill and flathead catfish but not a lot of any. The fish I have been catching are all on brush in 22-30 feet of water and about 18-feet down. If you start catching bluegill on the spoon you can bet flatheads are very near and close to the bottom. I had been catching about 4-5 crappie and a variety of the other species unti yesterday when it was a bit slower. I have been using the 1/8th ounce Bink's spoon and crappie minnows mostly. Some are catching bass on large worms. Out guest went out with Bink on Thursday and had a great time. Said they caught about 30-fish. Mostly hybrids and white bass all on the spoon. I have not been open water fishing but several fish are still being caught deep. We have received about 0.8 inches of rain in the last several days. Just enough to keep things green and the grass growing like crazy. I expect the fishing to get much better soon but it has not happened yet. Still just fair. The weather looks to be very nice for the next week. If it is sunny I will go diving and if cloudy pole fishing.. Tough choices.
