I went diving yesterday for a short time after work. The lake level was 554.05 and it was cloudy and the visibility was not very good. The lake has dropped about 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with a little more generation. The lake is at a very good level and is in overall great condition for kayaking, boating and water sports. The surface temperature was 89 degrees and the weather is to cool down quite a bit in the next several days with a good chance of needed rain continuing into next week starting tomorrow night. It is hard to believe July is about over and school is starting soon but you still have a chance to take the children and grand children on an inexpensive trip to Norfork Lake and Blackburns resort and Boat rental. We will not charge you too much. More fish have moved into the main lake brush just recently. White bass, crappie and bass are now with the walleye at 23-27 feet. The thermocline has not changed and it starts to get cool at 24-feet and is cold at 27 feet. It is best to go diving when the sun is shining as it helps the visibility to be just good enough for good fishing. It has been very good so far with a good supply of walleye. You can see about 4-feet in cloudy weather and 6-7 feet on sunny days. It makles a big difference on the bank as dirt or clay banks have bad visibility and rock banks are ok. Work main lake rocky points with brush and you will get fish. Pole fishing for white bass and hybrids continues every morning Between the 101 bridge and cow point on the north side of the lake. You can mix fishing and boating now and everyone has fun.
