Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Caught yesterday morning fishing with Bink's Guide Service.Image title

The lake level is 555.12 and is dropping about 1-inch in a 24-hour period with little generation. The White River at Newport is 5+ feet and about ready to dry up. They could be letting out a lot more water if they wanted to. Surface temperature is still 90-degrees and the ambient temperature is in the mid to high 90's and it is dry here. The creeks are stained and the main lake is fairly clear down to the mud line just above the thermocline at 23-feet with very cold water at 27 feet. A lot of fish are on brush in 23-28 feet. Many red meat fish are being caught early and late west of the 101 bridge to Cow point. They come up early and then go back down. Top water lures and spoons are the best. Some are not very big but there are a lot of them. Mostly white bass and a few hybrids. Catfish are with them and a few walleye. Boaters and swimmers are having a great time and the lake in general is in excellent condition. Come on down to Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental and we will not charge you too much. Norfork Lake summer fun is in full swing.
