Tom Kelly with a couple of very nice crappie. Walleye, bass and white bass were with them.
The lake level is 555.89 and has dropped 1-inch in the last 24-hours with just a few hours of generation. White River at Newport is 7+ feet so they could be letting out about all they wanted. Blackburn's brush piles are at perfect levels now and there are fish all over them. Bass, walleye, crappie and white bass are together. Stripers are at 40-50 feet on shad no matter what the depth of the water. Spoons are the bait of choice for about everything unless you want to get out at 4-AM and net shad and drag around a bunch of poles that get tangeled up. Both work. People are catching fish everyday and good ones too but most are enjoying boating, swimming and dragging overweight childern around on a chaise lounge chair. I wonder what happened to skiing? This is Schuler weather. They know what I mean. The children are really having fun playing in the big pool with slide and are worn out at the end of the day. Water surface temperature is about 90-degrees and the creeks are stained green a bit. I will not go diving until the lake traffic slows a bit a as some people on jet skis think the dive flag is a target and do not acknowledge no wake zones. Most boaters are good though. Blackburns has a good group in as usual and we are glag to see them. Repeat business is the best and we have a lot of it. Thank you. The lake in general is in excellent condition. Come on down. We have several ways to beat the heat.
