The lake level has dropped 3.3 inches in the last 24-hours and has finally gotten back to where it was before last week's rain. They have been generating continuously and Newport is at 13-feet. It was cooler yesterday with less humidity and was beautiful. Very good weather scheduled for most of this week and a good time to visit Norfork Lake. Surface temperature remains about 86 and the lake is pretty clear and in overall excellent condition for fishing, boating and swimming. Walleye fishing is the best followed by bass, crappie, catfish and temperate bass (red meat fish) not much has changed otherwise since last week with some stripers moving to 50-ft deep and biting on the spoon and many others in 19-25 feet and roaming after the newly hatched very small shad. I will check out brush piles later. Some are coming into play but many others need about 5-ft. of level drop. Bink's Guide Service is really on the walleye and if that is what you want now is the time.  Both morning and evening. Use that 1/2 ounce spoon and drop it right on their heads. Soft plastics are working too. I will check for a thermocline and will not speculate until I know for sure.
