Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 565.35 and has risen from 565.23 after the 0.6 inches of badly needed rain. It all sunk in. They quit generating when the rain started even though the level at Newport dropped to below 12 feet but they have started again this morning. Whoever decided to keep the level at Newport to 12-ft and hold all of the lakes except Table Rock? I wish they were running for relection. We have been very lucky it has been very dry. The lake is in very good condition and scuba diving season is almost upon us. The best overall fishing tip is to fish behind, in and in front of the old shoreline in 14-18 ft. of water at all depths. Fish are from the bottom to near the top. Walleye bottom and bass near the top. Crappie are getting harder to catch and they are schooled and roaming. Both main lake and creeks are holding fish. Fish are surfacing most days but sometimes not very long in duration so do not bank your whole day on it. Get out early, take the middle of the day off, and fish until almost dark. You will catch fish.
