Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 558.11 and has come up 9-inches in the last 24-hours with no generation. They are Running Table Rock hard to protect Branson. It is all about the money. They caught a lot of flack for the landing flooding last year and are doing all they can to not let it happen again. Norfork lake is muddy again in the Red Bank area with some debris. It is ok in this area with lake visibility down about 3-feet and just some small stuff and leaves in the water on the main lake. The sunshine helped slow the water rise but more rain is predicted. The creeks have stopped running but some is still coming down the hillsides. The fishing was pretty good with several big crappie, some keeper bass and some good stripers and hybrids being caught. Tom Stanton caught some good ones trolling an umbrella this morning.   The weather rollercoaster continues with warm weather one day and cool the next. The rain did not raise the water temperature this time and it is still at 56 and very slow rising. The calendar is bringing the fishing around more than the water temperature. The crappie were full of eggs with blood lines and are ready to spawn any time. A few walleye were caught yesterday near the bank. Things are coming around but slowly. Blackburns has some good fishermen in now and are bringing in fish everyday but it is not easy. Pictures to follow. Big Easter egg hunt here this afternoon. Wish you were here. We do not raise our prices in April.
