Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 557.31 and has risen 2-ft. in the last 24-hours with one generator running most of the time. I am really surprised it rained in the spring. We received a total of about 5-inches in two days and the creeks run hard for most of the day with them being brown to where they meet the main lake. It is beautiful today with more rain coming later. The level at Newport has risen to 17 feet and they are running the white river chain hard. My creek is very brown. Paul Ahren is here with some friends and they did well catching some very large crappie in the Red Bank area. Always nice to see them again. Blackburns 13th annual Easter Egg hunt is tomorrow and I hope it does not rain it out. It gets bigger every year despite the children growing up. Some of them that used to hunt are now hiding eggs.  We now have all of the cabins open for the spring and are not turning any more guests away so come on down. Our price is still $53/day for a 1-bedroom and we do not raise our prices until Memorial Day. Some raise theirs April 1st. so be very carefull. You can wind up paying way too much. We have many flowers and will have to mow the grass soon. April is filling up fast with people taking advantage of our low prices on both cabins and rental boats. I am seeing a few fish coming up. It will not be too long. The crappie were in 25-ft. of water 10-feet down.
