Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 570.25 and has risen 5-inches in the last 24-hours. We received about 1/2 inches total for two days here at Mallard Point and just short of one inch in town. Most of it came after the storm blew through. The creeks did not run.  We did not get any severe weather here but it was around us. The level at Newport continues to drop and is just above 20 feet and the discharge has dropped also. Minor flood stage is 26-feet and they should be keeping it near that. Bull Shoals is 19 feet above power pool and is really getting high with all of the water going into it from Table Rock to keep Branson normal. We are to get little of no rain for over the next week and they are to get another chance to lower the lakes. Do not squander this chance boys. The lake surface temperature is in the low to mid 70's and is just fine for swimming and the water is clearing nicely. Fishing overall is just fair with the fish being scattered and in a lot of cover. The moon is waning and the catfishing is getting better again with mostly channels being caught. White Bass are being caught around Cranfield Island and walleye around Robinson Island. Bass are part way back in the creeks inside the buckbrush. There is still a top water bite for bass early with some red meat fish mixed in with them. It looks to be great weather for the holiday weekend and Blackburns has no diminished services and the best prices. Come on down. We will not charge you too much.
