Caught on the Bink's Jigging Spoon.
The lake level is 561.13 and is too high. It drops when they generate and rises when they quit. They should not quit. I guess they want to keep control of something as all of the other area lakes are below the top of the power pool. The White River at Newport is 11.48 feet and they are using Norfork to manage Newport to below 12-feet for some unknown reason. The surface water temperature is 88-degrees and the thermocline is at 28-feet. The visibility is deteriorating with the warmer water but is still ok for diving. The lake overall is in good condition for swimming, diving, boating and fishing but some ramp parking is restricted by the high water. Several bass remain on brush on main lake points during the day and move in shallow to feed on crawdads in the late evening. More Crappie are moving to brush and the larger Walleye are in 30-ft. of water near the bottom and roaming. Catfishing is fair to good on live bait when the lake is rising but slows as the moon gets bigger especially on clear nights.Bluegill are around willows and off docks on crickets. Stripers are by the dam in deep water off points on spoons and dragging umbrellas. White Bass and Hybrids are in open water on Shad. Bass fsihermen are doing well after dark on saltcraws.
