The lake level is 552.98 and is up just a bit with 2.2 inches of badly needed rain in the last 24-hours. No storms, no wind just a nice rain. Things are coming alive after two months of heat. It all sank in. Fall and wonderful temperatures are finally here. The lake is at a good level and in good condition for fishing and scuba diving. Diving conditions have been the best in several years with clear water and a lot of fish. Scuba Steve went out two days in a row down to over 43-feet and found no thermocline. That means there will be no lake turnover this year in the Blackburns Creek area and the fishing will get better and better as the water cools. It was 80-degrees and dropping this evening. The fish have no reason to be at any depth except for food and cover. Main Lake brush piles at the ends of points are the best places to start looking. Kentucky Bass are every where and biting on 1/4 ounce Binks's Spoon. Some Crappie are moving back to brush but they are spooky and roaming. For early October things are looking up. Scuba Steve expects a very good fall and winter fishing season and loves big Crappie winter fishing. Thanksgiving is a great time. You can still get a 1-bedroom cabin for $69/day and a 2-bedroom for $89/day with 374 bedrooms friced accordingly. There is no better resort around and no reason to pay more unless you just have too much money. We do not want to charge our repeat customers too much. Compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 and join the fun. We will not charge you too much. Scuba Steve will show you where his brush piles are located. He knows where the fish are and will show you.
