The lake level is 552,82 and has dropped 3/4 of an inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running for 7-hours. The White River at Newport is 1.55 feet and very low and about ready to dry up. No boating there. The lake level is normal for early October. We did receive 2.2 inches of rain last week and it really helped things including fall foliage but it is still very dry. There is some fall color on west facing banks. It is better than I thought after being so hot and dry in August and September. The lake has turned over with not much change and there is no summer thermocline. The water is homogenous down to 40-feet and there is no reason for the fish to be anywhere except for cover and food. The surface warer temperature is 80-degrees and the nights are getting cooler. The weather is beautiful. The fishing will get better and better as November approaches. Right now Kentucky Bass are on main lake brush piles on points in 25-30-feet of water and some smaller stripers and white bass on on shad in open water in 40-45-ft. of water. Some larger Walleye and Largemouth Bass are with them. It really looks like a good fall for fishing. Scuba Steve is waiting for the Crappie to move into his brush piles but they are a little later then last year. Everything is moving and looking for food.  He is getting as few though. The weather is beautiful and the lake is in excellent condition and at a good level. Your best bet is to drop a spoon. They are catching some nice fish off Scuba Steve's Dock. You can get a 1-bedroom cabin at Blackburns for 69/day and a 2-bedroom for $89/day and stay at the best resort. We have it all and at the best price. Big dock, launching and dock parking. Live bait on site. Come on down and check us out and not pay too much. Closest to Mountain Home, dining and shopping. No sense wasting gas.
