31 March 2025 Norfork lake Near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental

3/31/2025

The lake level is 553.77 and is the same as it was at this time yesterday with just 4-hours of generation. The level has been very stable with no rain and very little generation. The White River at Newport is 5.83 feet and very low. They are trying to regulate to the top of the power pool of 553.75 and when it gets above that they make an effort to drop it fairly quickly. When the Electric Company takes over the generation schedule they just quit. The surface water temperature is 57-degrees and rising and the main lake is fairly clear and the creeks are stained green. Scuba Steve could see his lure down 4-5 feet on the main lake. The St. Croix Bassmaster Open is to be April 3-5 on Norfork Lake and they could be in for some rainy weather. Bring good rain gear and fish windblown creeks facing south around any docks or wood keeping an eye out for surfacing fish on shad. The Shad are not spawning yet but there is some top-water but it does not last long. Stripers are in open water on shad and trollers are catching a few as are spooners. Male Crappie have moved shallow on spawning banks staging in about 5-feet of water. The big ones will spawn when the water hits 60 if the lake stays stable. If not they will wait. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental continues to have the best place with the best price on both cabins and Boat rentals in the Ozarks. A free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Scuba Steve will show you where mhis brush piles are located when you get here. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here ant the price is right. We especially welcome Veterans and Police.
