Image titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleThe lake level is 560.82 and is way too high for the amount of rainfall we have received. They just will not let out much water despite the heat, high electrical power demand and high water effects on resorts, campgrounds and marinas. We have not had excess rainfall this year but they continue their policy of hold and hope with no real plan. I think they will be forced to generate more with the current heat wave. We should be at least 5-8 feet lower. The surface water temperature is 83-degrees and rising and the thermocline starts at 23-degrees and is very cold at 26. The water clarity is fair and there is a mud line from 22-26 feet with clearer water below. Several fish of different species are on main lake points at various depths near and in brush at or just under the thermocline. Stripers and some larger Walleye are headed out into deeper water and will continue to go deeper as the water temperature rises and the thermocline drops. Some Crappie are part way back in larger creeks near cover, some are in open water on shad and some are on main lake brush. Bluegill are in shallower water in the willows and under docks and biting on crickets. Bass are biting worms and small crankbaits shallow early and late and spoons on brush during the day. Fishing is fair but some nice ones are being caught everyday. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental continues to have the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. A free stall for your boat at our dock comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. We have 12-pontoons to rent. Go to www.blackburnsresort.com and click on Scuba Steve's Blog for a daily report.
