Caught during this reporting period.Image titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleThe lake level is 557.24 and is dropping very slowly with one generator running about 1/3rd the time. The White River at Newport is 12.23 feet and they are regulationg to 12-feet with both Norfork and Bull Shoals being near the top of the power pools. For Norfork that is 556.76 feet for this time of year. The surface water temperature is 80-degrees and rising slowly in the warm sunshine with light winds. A summer thermocline has formed at 17-feet and a lot of fish are at or just around that depth especially if there is brush around. The spring top-water bite for stripers is diminishing but some bass are still surfacing early and late. The water clarity is clearing again after the holiday boat traffic and varies with the type of bank. It is still poor near clay and dirt banks but good off steep rocky banks. It is jigging spoon and plastic worm time again. The stripers are going deeper with the water temperature and walleye are scattered all over the place with about 1/3rd of them being 18-inches. Crappie are on shallower brush with bluegill. Overall the fishing is fair to good depending on the amount of sunshine and the size of the moon. Some nice catfish are being caught but gar are moving into the creeks and chasing them out. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental still has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. All cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have big covered porches and come with a free stall for your boat. If you are not staying at Blackburns you are paying too much. We especially welcome Veterans and Police. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
