13 February 2023 Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 556.74 and has risen 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running for only a couple of hours. The White Rive at Newport is 26.05 and about back in it's banks after the 3-inch rain last Tuesday. The lake water has risen four feet since then. The creeks are starting to clear up and the main lake was not affected much. The surface water tmeperature is 46-degrees and trying to rise a bit but has been very stable. The fishing has gotten better in the last couple of days including bass and crappie. Walleye and White Bass are up river spawning or getting ready to spawn. Some White Bass have finished. Try crappie on main lake points or just around them on brush from 25-35 feet with a slip float and minnow or a 2-inch jig on a 1/16th ounce jig head. Some are on top and some are deeper just abound the brush depending on if it is sunny or not. Bass are with them and also on shad in open water. Trollers are catching White Bass and Hybrids together on shad dragging umbrellas but it is not easy. Overall fishing is fair to good depending on the cold fronts. At least it is getting better. More rain is scheduled for Tuesday with wind followed by another cold front later in the week. The next couple of days are to be beautiful with good fishing conditions and light wind. Spring is on the way but the cold fronts just keep coming but are not as cold each time. The normal ambient high is now 50 and is headed in the right direction. Blackburns continues it's policy of continue improvement and there wil be no price increase again this year. We have put in some new brush piles and will show you where they are when you get here.
